Pastor, Rev. Emmanuel E. Johnson
The Reverend Emmanuel E. Johnson was ordained an Itinerant Elder on March 29, 2019, at the 69th Session of the Washington Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He accepted his call to preach at Union Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church Randallstown, MD under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Charles T. Sembly, now Presiding Elder Sembly. Reverend Johnson is the organizer and founder of the Nursing Home Ministry at Future Care Nursing Home in Randallstown, MD. On July 1, 2020, with the permission of the Second Episcopal District African Methodist Episcopal Church Presiding Prelate Bishop James L. Davis, United Methodist Church Bishop LaTrelle Easterling and District Superintendent Reverend Dr. Ann LaPrade, Reverend Emmanuel Johnson was appointed Pastor of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Reisterstown, MD.
At an early age, Rev. Johnson accepted Christ at Mt. Moriah AME Zion Church in Richburg, SC. He attended Chester County Public Schools and received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. and a Master of Arts in Church Ministries and Master of Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD.
Rev. Johnson is the Sole Proprietor of Emmanuel's Barbershop in Randallstown, MD, a Certified Grief Counselor and is active in community and political affairs. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. His favorite hymn is "My Hope is Built" and his favorite Scripture is "Now unto him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion, and power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude 1:24-25KJV). Reverend Johnson is married to Alison Hall Johnson. Together they have three adult children, one daughter-in-law and two granddaughters. Reverend Johnson refers to himself as a "humble servant" of God.

How old is the Church?
St. Luke Church United Methodist Church was built in 1880 by free blacks and former enslaved African Americans. We recently celebrated our service in the community for over 144 years with a gala event.
Do you have programs for all ages?
Absolutely! We offer a range of programs for children, youth, and adults. Our Sunday school for all ages meets before the 10:30 AM worship service. We provide opportunities for fellowship, and wholesome fun activities for the entire family. We are growing our ministry to children and youth. We formed a partnership to provide an outreach summer camp program for youth in the community. We are passionate about supporting our younger generation and their faith journey.
